Personal journals and travel diaries, 1852-1901, including trips to England, Europe, the Holy Land, and Australia; letters written to his parents while at Phillips Academy, 1854-1855, Yale College, 1858-1861, Harvard, 1863-1865, and while traveling and on lecture tours, 1858-1895; his wedding journal and correspondence with his wife Georgina Hemingway Cook, 1877-1900; letters received, 1851-1900, from his parents William H. and Merrett Cook, from friends, and from C.H. DeLano about Ticonderoga Academy, 1864-1868; some of the letters discuss the Ponca Indians and Afro-Americans; school compositions, college notebooks, and other essays, 1851-1900; poetry manuscripts, 1854-1901; and photographs, clippings, memorials, and obituaries, 1876-1901. Other items include the journal of Elbertina M. DeLano of Wadhams, N.Y., 1855; bonds, deeds, mortgages, receipts, and marriage records of Warner and William Cook, 1840-1857; genealogy notebook on the Hemingway family; and an unfinished biography of Cook by his wife Georgina H.
